Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC is through to the semi-finals of the 2018 Mapinduzi Cup following their 1-0 win over Simba SC on Monday at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
New boy, Deboss Kalama scored the goal for the tax collectors after an in the 4th minute of added time in the first half. The win meant the Ugandans finish at the summit with ten points followed by Azam with nine, Simba with four while Mwenge and Jamuhuri had one each.
In the other game played in group B, Dany Lyanga and Simon Makapu scored as Yanga and Singida United shared the spoils. Ugandan left winger, Shafiq Batambuze was named the man of the match for the second match running.
The two sides finished with 13 points each and qualified for the semifinals. The games will continue on Wednesday after resting for one day with Azam booking Singida united as URA take on Yanga.
