Former Ugandan international Musa Mudde and Henry Kisekka, were on show for the full 90 minutes, as their team Gokulam in the Indian second tier I-League, came from a goal down to hold Mohun Bagan, in a league match on Thursday 8th March.
Africans were on show in the game as the 28 year old Kisekka, who joined Gokulan from Vietnamese side Can Tho, scored his fourth goal for the Indian side in the 45th minute, to cancel out Cameroonian Dick Dipanda’s 26th minute goal, that gave Mohun Bagan the lead.
While Kisekka got his fourth goal in seven appearances for his team, Dipanda’s goal was his 13th in 18 appearances for Mohun Bagan.
Both sides stayed rooted in the standings, Mohun Bagan at third with 31 points and Gokulam seventh on 21 points.
In another game in the same league, Ugandan international Khalid Aucho, who recently joined East Bengal, was not in the squad as the team came from a goal down to draw 1 – 1 with Neroca.
That as well was a game settled by Africans as Nigerian Felix Chidi Odili scored the opener for Neroca in the 42nd minute before another Nigerian Dudu Omagbeni scored the equalizer in the 73rd minute.
