Homeboyz need the Mukaisi that showed up over the weekend
In Kakamega town football, no name strikes fear in defenders as much as Dennis Mukaisi Ngaira does.

You know those hometown stories, where the best local footballer is always revered and his name tossed around a couple of times in reference to a great player? That is Mukaisi.

He has been a top player all his young life and not just at the Kakamega Homeboyz has he made a name for himself.

Mukaisi has the talent and he is probably the only player in the Homeboyz side at the moment that can play for the big three; AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia and Tusker FC.

But he has found it tough this season.

The Kenyan Premier League is a difficult one to navigate as a new face and it has shown for Mukaisi, who has struggled to set the world alight.

I personally had written him off after witnessing some high profile misses, up-til he bounced back to form over the weekend in the 4-1 beating of SoNy Sugar.

He changed the game for Homeboyz coming on as a sub, scoring one and setting up a goal, as well as terrorizing the hapless SoNy backline.

Was he the difference for Homeboyz? Very much so.

Homeboyz will need a revitalized Mukaisi if they are to survive this season. Allan Otindo is not the biggest scorer of goals in recent times and Tony Ssentongo is unpredictable.

The new guys can however act as a foil for Mukaisi, especially Otindo who is a good assist maker.

Every Homeboyz fan can only hope that the Mukaisi that shone over the weekend will turn up for ten of the 15 remaining games because if so, they will not be anywhere close to the relegation places when the fat lady sings.
